DOCUMENTI E ATTIVITA' 2013-2014
Un lavoro ormai consolidato quello svolto dal CEDAC, che ha portato alla pubblicazione del quinto volume Documenti e attività curato da Antonio Giarola e Alessandro Serena. Una monografia che rappresenta un punto fisso nella programmazione CEDAC, il quale continua a mantenere la caratteristica organizzazione nei principali ambiti di lavoro del CEDAC; documentazione, formazione, sensibilizzazione e supporto allo studio. La sezione dei Documenti, presenta otto studi, riguardanti alcune note famiglie del XIX secolo Si sono anche affrontati inediti temi come quello del circo tra le due guerre, quello del rapporto tra Circo e Fiera e quello molto contemporaneo, considerato l’imminente EXPO, sulle attrazioni circensi all’esposizione generale di Torino del 1884. La seconda parte dedicata alle Attività, illustra il lavoro di promozione del volume CORPO ANIMALI MERAVIGLIE, seguono i report delle conferenze tenute in occasione dei Festival di Mosca, Budapest e Figueres e l’esperienza delle giornate di studio all’Università di Milano. Due anni duranti i quali si è continuato il lavoro di digitalizzazione, acquisizione e donazione di materiali come nel caso del Dott. Alain Frère. Un lavoro senza il quale non sarebbe stato possibile avviare la collaborazione con Promemoria, o ancora partecipare attivamente al progetto World Digital Library. Obiettivo di questa sezione è anche quello di segnalare alcuni importanti eventi del mondo circense ai quali il CEDAC ha dato il proprio contributo, come il World Circus Day, la mostra allestita all’Open Street Festival di Milano o quella organizzata dalla famiglia Cavedo. Conclude la monografia la sezione delle tesi, ciascuna delle quali ha analizzato il circo nelle più diverse declinazioni. Quindici elaborati, molti dei quali sono frutto di un’esperienza diretta dei candidati, come nel caso di Achille Zoni, artista di strada che ha affrontato il tema dell’arte di strada come patrimonio culturale, Nicola Acquaviva che ha seguito l’organizzazione del tour teatrale di David Larible, Laura Caserini, sostenitrice dell’ENPA, che ha affrontato il tema dell’evoluzione del rapporto tra circo e animali o ancora Marta Zotti che ha approfondito il ruolo pedagogico del clown in relazione alla propria attività teatrale. Tra le altre tematiche affrontate vi sono il rapporto tra Circo e Danza, Circo e Opera, Circo tra cinema e televisione, le Statue viventi, Ennio Marchetto, il circo e il mito del Wild West, il Cirque du soleil, il Festival Mirabilia di Fossano e per concludere il Teatro Dal Verme e la sua storia spettacolare.

A strengthened work is that of CEDAC, which lead to the publishing of the fifth volume of documents and activities attended by Antonio Giarola and Alessandro Serena. This monography represents an unbending point in CEDAC programming, which still maintains the usual organization in its fields of work: documentation, formation, sensitization and support to research. The Document section presents eight investigations concerning with some notable families of 18th century. The Centre also dealt with unprecedented themes like the circus between the two World Wars, the connection between Circus and Fair and, ultimately, considering the imminent EXPO, the most contemporary of them, the 1884 Universal Exposition in Turin. The second, dedicated part to the Activities illustrates the promoting work BODY, ANIMALS, MARVELS, follows the reports about the lectures of Moscow, Budapest and Figueres Festivals and the experiences of daily studying at Milano University. During these two years, CEDAC carried on with its work of digitalization, acquisition and donation of material, like in Dr. Alain Frère's case. Without this work, CEDAC would not have started with the collaboration with Pro_Memoria or else collaborate with the World Digital Library project actively. This section's goal is to point out some important events of the circus world to which CEDAC gave its contribute, like the World Circus Day, the Open Street Festival exposition, or the exhibit organized by the Cavedo family. The monography ends with the thesis section, in which each thesis explores the circus world in all its features. Fifteen reports which can be considerated the result of direct experience, like in the case of Achille Zoni, street artist who dealt with the topic of street art as part of cultural background; Nicola Acquaviva, who shared the organization of the theatric tour with David Larible; Laura Caserini, ENPA supporter, who analyzed the evolution of the relationship between animals and circus; or else Marta Zotti, who - during her theatre activity - examined the pedagogical role of clowns. Among the other topics, CEDAC analyzed the relationship between Circus and Dance, Circus and Opera, the connection of circus with cinema and television, the Living statues, Ennio Marchetto, the circus and the Wild West Myth, the Cirque du Soleil, the Mirabilia Festival in Fossano and, to conclude, the Worm Theatre and its thrilling history.
