IL CEDAC AL FESTIVAL DI FIGUERES
La stagione dei Festival 2013-2014 si è conclusa con il terzo Festival Internazionale del Circo di Figueres, in Catalogna, Spagna. La città natia di Salvador Dalì è diventata una della capitali del circo con uno spettacolo applaudito da oltre 26.000 spettatori paganti, numerosissimi operatori da tutto il mondo e varie iniziative parallele a sostegno della cultura del circo, fra le quali mostre, dibattiti, esposizioni.
Come già successo in altre prestigiose rassegne, il CEDAC vi ha preso parte, infatti il direttore area ricerca Alessandro Serena (professore di Storia dello spettacolo circense e di strada all'Università di Milano) era membro della giuria della critica e ha presentato il volume Corpo, animali, meraviglie. Le arti circensi a Verona tra Sette e Novecento, firmato con Antonio Giarola. Una mattinata dedicata a libri sul circo in cui sono stati introdotti anche El arte circense en Cuba, di Miguel Menendez, Figueres 2012. 1er Festival Internacionale del Circ, di autori vari oltre a tre libri prettamente fotografici: Figueres 2013, di Yvon Kervinio, e due raccolte dedicate a grandi fotografi spagnoli quali Alvaro Castellano Villar e Josep Vinyes. Alla presentazione anche Ramon Bech, cofondatore di Circus Arts Foundation e Julio Revolledo, professore di Arti sceniche e circensi contemporanee all'Universita' di Puebla, Messico.
CEDAC AT FIGUERES FESTIVAL
The 2014-2015 Festivals' Season ended with the third International Circus Festival of Figueres, in Catalonia, Spain. Salvador Dalì's hometown became one of the capitals of circus with a show applauded by 26.000 spectators, a plenty of operators from all the world and several simultaneous initiatives which support the culture of circus. Among them, exhibitions, debates, expositions. As it occurred on the occasion of other illustrious expositions, CEDAC took part in it. Indeed, the research area director Alessandro Serena (Professor of Circus and Street Spectacle History at Milano University) was member of the jury of critics and presented the volume Corpo, animali, meraviglie. Le arti circensi a Verona tra Sette e Novecento, also signed by Antonio Giarola. It was a morning dedicated to books regarding circus, in which the twp co-authors mentioned "El arte circense en Cuba", written by Miguel Menendez, published in Figueres in 2012 and the "1st Festival international del Circ", by various authors. Furthemore, they presented three pure photographic volumes: "Figueres 2013", by Yvon Kervinio and two collections dedicated to great Spanish photographers like Alvaro Castellano Villar and Josep Vinyes. Also Ramon Bech, co-foundator of Circus Arts Foundation, and Julio Revolledo, professor of Contemporary Scenic and Circus Arts At Puebla University (Mexico), were participating at the the presentation.
