CI HA LASCIATI SERENA BASSANO
Il giorno 19 febbraio, presso la clinica ospedaliera “San Lorenzo” di Don Orione a Genova, si è spenta Serena Bassano. Giornalista, attrice teatrale e cinematografica, è stata soprattutto una preziosa e indimenticabile Amica del Circo. Figlia del noto commediografo genovese Enrico Bassano e nipote del pittore Luigi, Serena è stata per oltre cinquant’anni testimone esemplare dell’universo circense da lei descritto nelle centinaia di articoli firmati per il Corriere Mercantile, il Secolo XIX, Avvenire, e per CIRCO, mensile dell’ENC da lei diretto dal marzo a dicembre 1979. La sua passione autentica per la pista, ereditata e formata dal padre, prese forma anche di una monografia co-firmata con il padre e dedicata a Rosina Casartelli, Una donna un circo. Dall’Arena Rosa al Medrano. Di lei rimangono i numerosi studi sulle più diverse discipline circensi, e i ricordi, forse, dell’ultima grande firma giornalistica appartenente al gruppo dei colti esperti, accanto a Alberini, Rivarola, Cervellati, Giollo, il padre Enrico e Mistretta. Di lei si ricordano i dialoghi culturali sempre cercati e realizzati tra le pagine della rivista CIRCO e le amicizie profonde con il mondo dei viaggianti più e meno noti.
A lei vanno il più sentito abbraccio e il più profondo grazie da parte del CEDAC e di tutto il consiglio direttivo dell’ ANSAC.

On the 19th February at the Clinic “San Lorenzo” of Don Orione in Genova Serena Bassano is passed away. Journalist, film and theater actress, she has been particularly a valuable and unforgettable Circus Friend. Daughter of the famous Genoese playwright Enrico Bassano and granddaughter of the painter Luigi, Serena has been for over fifty years exemplary witness of the circus universe that she described in hundreds of articles signed for the Corriere Mercantile, Secolo XIX, Avvenire and CIRCO monthly of the Ente Nazionale Circhi which she directed from March to December 1979 (after her father’s death). Her true passion for the ring, inherited and formed by his father, took also the shape of a monograph, co signed with her father, and dedicated to Rosina Casartelli, titled Una donna un circo. Dall’Arena Rosa al Medrano. She left numerous studies on different circus disciplines and she left us her memories, the once of the last great name of the expert circus journalists among which Alberini, Rivarola, Cervellati, Giollo, her father Enrico and Mistretta. She is remembered also for the cultural dialogues always sought and achieved through the pages of the magazine CIRCO and for the deep friendship with the travelling world (more and less known).
